Hello,
my name is Frauke, I am seventeen years old and I live in Jever, which is a
small town in Northern Germany. I have one older sister who doesn't live in
Jever anymore and I of course have two parents. :)
I am in the eleventh grade,
unfortunately for the second time, because I had to repeat a year.
The most important thing in my life besides friends and family is
definitely music. Since I was six years old I was anttending violine
lessons, which I stopped, though when I was twelve. But then I started
attending piano lessons and I do it until now.
And even more important for me than all these instruments is singing. I always wanted to have vocal
lessons, but we never had a vocal teacher in town, so I wasn't able to do
it until I was fourteen, when finally a vocal teacher began to work in
Jever. So I am attending vocal lessons for nearly four years now.
Actually it is not surprising that I am interested in music and especially in singing: each
of my auntshave been an opera singer, and my grandma , too. Thus it was kind of
prearranged.
But the fact that I am playing a classical instrument or that I am
attending classical vocal lessons doesn't mean that I do also listen to
that kind of music. Actually I really don't like classical music. Of course,
playing and singing pieces of Mozart or Bach is fun, otherwise I wouldn't do
it, but for listening to music I prefer other music.
Which kind of music I prefer is another question... It is pretty difficult to describe my taste, but I will give it a try. Well, I do almost only listen to German
"rock" music. Rock isn't quite the right word, but there is no better
word to describe this kind of music. Unfortunately you probably do not know
all the German bands I like, because they are not famous international bands.
Whatever... German "rock" is not the only music I listen to. I also like
German HipHop very much, but you might also not know any German HipHop. But
there is one American band that I really really love. I would say it is kind
of my favourite band, namely Incubus. You might have heard of them. It is my
"favourite band" since nearly five years and everyday I love them more and
more. :)
And there are two more bands that should be mentioned: The
Beatles and The Rolling Stones. I especially wished for a record player to my
last birthday, so that I could listen to the old records of my mum and my dad. These two bands are amazing and they will always be.
That's pretty much all the music I listen to. Of course there are some otherbands that I like, but they aren't really mentionable...
What I also do besides singing, playing piano, listening to music and going to school is dancing. I have been attending ballett
lessons since I was three years old and this is my second passion. But there is not very much to tell about ballet...
I hope that I will get my Abitur (which is a diploma from the German secondary school which qualifies you for universitary
admission or immatriculation) in three years, because after school I want to move to Hamburg and study singing.
I think first of all this was enough to get a little insight into my life. :)
