Gaming:

We are very interested what kind of computer games you play in your country, especially multiplayer/internet games.

Which genres do you prefer?

How much do you play?

Is “Progaming” a serious profession in your country?

We hope to hear from you!

Hello Henrik, Julius, Olaf,
I am interested in play station and computer games and usually spend my free time on these games.
My favorite the computer's game are Max pain very much and the Mummy and Pink Panther ,Die hard , half life ,...
Among play station games I like Takken , Crash , Pepsi man , Resident evil , Spider man , Tomb rider ,...
I sometimes play these games with my brother Alireza.
I think every one at this age should play, be happy and enjoy life!

Hi Mahsa,
I don't like games on Playstation because of the graphic. The graphic in a computer is much higher. You can't compare it with a TV-srceen. I don't like to play with a game pad, either. I like to play internet multiplayer games because it's an individual kind of gaming. It's more realistic, when you have "real" enemies and when you are better than the others, you can be more proud of it. When you take a lot of time, everyone can beat computer-enemies (in internet-games called "bots").
Max Payne is a nice game. I like it because their programmers wanted to create a game with a lot of style. It's not like a default game because there are no "slow-motion-scenes". Max Payne is the best game in 3rd-person. I prefer to play ego-shooter games. Half Life is also a good game. A disadvantage of playing computer is that you nearly always have to have the newest computer-components.

Hey Mahsa!
Playstation™ is gay because the graphic isn’t nearly as good as the graphic of a pc, as long as you’ve got the right (good) components.
If I can’t choose the maximal resolution I won’t have only the half fun. Unfortunately it’s very expensive.
I prefer all kind of games except science-fiction or other future games (Unreal Tournament, Doom 3, Aquanox, etc.).
Important for me is the realism resp. games which pick up historical and present events (Black Hawk Down, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor Series, etc..)
In addition, I like sport games. All kind of sport games. FIFA 2005 is my favourite game because I’m also very interested in the “real” soccer.
On LANs we often play these games, but on the internet I play hardly anything. Okay, I play “Soldat” a little nice 2D game. (www.selfkill.com)
Only 10 MB but the fun is indescribable.

Well, I think you didn't know who I am, when you wrote your e-mail. ;o) I think it's interesting, that I only got three responses for my theme, which are all from Jever. Playing Computer-Games seems to be an uninteresting aspect in the other countries.
I even know the game "Soldat" and I got it myself. We play it sometimes on the LAN-Partys I participate. But I personally prefer 3D games, like UT2004, Call of Duty, Doom3 and FarCry. I do not like the Classical-Ego-Shooter "Counter Strike", although the most people play it. I do not only play the games, I'm mapping a little bit, too. (I think you know mapping, do you?) It's a lot fun being superior, because you know the map better than others.
To illegal downloads I can say, that I know a little about it. I know a few people by internet, who are doing very illegal things, like giving sources for downloads. And I could download games an movies myself, if I would want to.
That the most people want to see blood an the heads of the enemies fly away is a big problem, I think. So playing computer is getting negative from the view of the most people. It's for example called the reason for the crazed action in Erfurt. But I don't think so too.

Hi Tobias!
Sorry, but is was a mistake of my teacher, the mail you got was the text of mine ;)
It's nice that you play "Soldat" on LAN-Parties. I think the game becomes more popular. Two weeks ago, I saw a report of "Soldat" in TV. It was the GIGA-esport-show. There where a show match and I know the players because I played with them, too. :P
I understand persons, who prefer 3D-games and I also like the games you told me. On LAN-Parties, mostly we play "Call of Duty". "Counterstrike" and "Unreal Tournament 2004" are also very funny. But I hate "Doom3". It's one of worst games ever... Always the same, you open a door, a monster jumps on you and you shoot it down - next room... I don't play "Far Cry", either, because I think it's not very cool, when there a lot of monsters in the game. The best Ego-Shooter is "XIII" (13),do you know this Comic-shooter? A new game that we play on LAN-Parties is "Flat Out", a nice car-race-game.
Year, I know what mapping is and I think for 3D-Games, it's not very easy. There are a few hard parts in the maps for example the light and the shadows.
Please write back, bye. Olaf, 11b, Jever
