Here are the opinions of people who like/love sports.

Hey you two!

At first: No, I’m am not a typical couch potato! I go horse riding four times a week and I try to go jogging once a week. But when I have time for jogging, mostly the weather is really bad! And you need to know that I haven’t got a lot of time.

If I had more time, I would do a lot of more sport. In the past, I tried to do all kinds of sports. I went swimming, dancing, playing tennis and more. But I always lost the passion and the fun! And finally I stayed at horse riding.

But I think I’m a little bit sportive, because the work in the stable is a little bit arduous, too and it’s my way of sport and to stay fit.

What kind of sport do you do? Write back! Silke, 11b, Jever

Hey Elmar and Evija!

The fact that I really like your topic makes me write to you although it’s quite strange to write an e-mail to my classmates and friends!

To me, sport is a very important subject in my life. I think I’m quite a sportive person although I love to watch athletes on television, too. Three times a week I play volleyball in a team of nearly 15 (well, at least I try to play volleyball three times a week). Most of the time, it’s really hard and exhausting training to improve the condition and style of playing volleyball. I have to admit that I often hate these times when you’re more than only exhausted and you still have to give your best and make every effort all the time! But although the training is so arduous, playing volleyball means everything to me in my life. On the one hand, it contains nevertheless a lot of fun and the feeling you have when you win an important match is so great and overwhelming that it’s difficult to describe. On the other hand, playing volleyball suits very well when you are angry or even sad about something that happened in school or when you are furious because of an argument between you and your parents or your best friend. You can put all your aggressions into playing volleyball and I can tell you, afterwards you feel so much better than before! In general, I think that sport is also a very important subject for staying healthy. In my opinion, nowadays there are too many children who are not interested in anything, especially not in sports, but computer games and fast food. Mostly, exactly these children are fat and therefore live unhealthy and that fact is in my view really sad.

Well, I hope you are not bored and you both enjoy reading my opinion to your topic at least a little bit …

Hi Evija and Elmar!
Your topic is very interesting. I like sport and now I play volleyball in a very nice team (with Evija) A few years ago I was in an athletic team. It’s the hardest sport I know. In the team I had to run 800 m. It was horrible. Six days in the week I had training and on Saturdays I had to go to a sport center.
And sometimes I had a contest. I was very nervous before my start. In my third contest I was so nervous I was sick. And after that I couldn’t run and my coach was very angry. It was a horrible day in my life. A few months later I didn’t find it fun any more and I stopped the sport. It was much better for me. Then I had to try to play football but this sport wasn’t good for me and I stopped the sport too. Now I play only volleyball ant that is enough. But it was very interesting to try all these sports. When I was in the second grade I had to play handball and dancing but that is not my thing. It was important for me to try all these kinds of sport, and now I know all these sports just do not suit me.

Some people ask sometimes, if sport is good for them or not. But I think that everyone must find his own opinion about sport. It isn't good to say that sport is good or bad if you have never done it. You have to look at the backgrounds of sport. Not everyone knows that sport isn't so hard. Some of them say something like that: "Sport is so dangerous" because they think about boxing or extreme sport. But it isn't like that. Sport can be soft. Not every kind of sport has something to do with physical effort. Like chess or something where you have to think? So in my opinion, school can be also be seen as a kind of sport, because there you have to think a lot, too. And Sport is helpful for health and against some diseases.
For me it's a lot of fun. And with fun you can be healthy, it is very practical. If you don't know what to do, then you can go and play something for example soccer or something like that. After that you feel better and the time is gone. When you want to begin with a kind of sport, you needn't start with a very hard of one, unless you want it. The best sport for beginners is swimming. It isn't so complicated. You only swim for yourself and don’t need a lot of power and you can relax some moments in the water. So in my opinion: "Sport is and remains good"

Hello you two!

You're right, sport is an important topic for students in Germany but at first I didn't know what to write about. It's such a normal thing in our lives, everyone does or even watches sport to talk about. Two years ago I started to do sport, I entered a volleyball team. The first time I did a special sport every week ( I'm not talking about the one we had to do in school ) and I had fun. In my childhood me, my parents or my grandparents did some Bicycle trips together or did other sportive things you can do in your free time without training. The problem was, my parents are very sportive and I wasn't interested, I was more interested in music and art - like my grandmother. But nowadays sports is more important to me, I'm really interested in Volleyball. In the summer a member of my Volleyball team and I go beachen so summer is the best time for Training. We train in the Outdoor Swimming Pool of Heidmühle and often other people play together with us, it doesn't matter if they are members of our team or not. So it also doesn't matter if some members of our team have no desire to train - we ask other people. By the way, everybody gets a bit suntanned and warmed by the sun. Before or sometimes even after our Training we go into the water and have a bit fun. Maybe your’re sometimes interested in playing with us? Let's bet who will win!!!
