The
hardest challenge:
Ok Mr Lichte,
I
took the hardest challenge of things that you don’t like. It think you
even hate this kind of movement and this is my attempt to convince you that
sport is a good thing that everyone of us should do sometimes or regularly.
First of all we have do define the word sport and analyze it with its kinds
of movements. And so there have to be differences between the kinds of
sports which are dangerous for you and especially your bones!
I think about team-sports like football, basketball and so on and the
extreme sports like bungee jumping or rock climbing. Of course, these sports
are breakneck and I agree with you that sports from this point of view are
very bad.
But think about the sports which aren’t dangerous like jogging or riding
your bike. I think it’s really difficult to break your leg while jogging.
Isn’t it?
You have to be very stupid to achieve that with jogging. And I think that
you aren’t stupid. Sports don’t have to be dangerous things and jogging
or riding have the same effect like team sports. The typical and boring
argument for sport is that you get fitter if you do it sometimes and, by the
way, you can lose weight. The experts say that sport is good for your health
and I think that’s right because in the past I had to go by bike for 4
kilometres to the bus stop every day. Since I have my driving license for a
motor-bike I didn’t do real sports anymore. And now I can feel that I’m
not fit as in the past, especially in the sports lessons because my
condition is not so good anymore. I think at this point you’ll say that
you don’t need condition because you don’t do sports but with this
little story that happened in my life I want to prove that sport keeps fit!
This slogan “sport keeps fit” was or is (I don’t know) an advertising
slogan of a health insurance scheme and if the members of this health
insurance scheme can prove that they do regular sports they get some gifts
or reduction of the subscription. So you can save money when you do sports!
But it’s required that you are at the right health insurance scheme.
And the most powerful argument to convince you is really incredible. I
learned it in the last chemistry lesson and first I didn’t believe it but
it’s true and only this argument gave me the reason to write this text. I
knew that you don’t hear or read the last arguments for the first time and
so I needed an argument which goes deeper in the whole thing sport.
Everybody is in his life sometimes, often or always stressed. It doesn’t
matter whether you get stressed in your job or in your family it’s always
the same because at that moment when you get nervous or stressed your body
turns out the hormone adrenaline into your circulation. This stuff makes
your body prefer to support your muscles with oxygen and nutrients in order
to give your body more power and condition in dangerous situations. But the
bad thing is that adrenalin makes your body neglect its support of your
internal organs with oxygen and nutrients.
This undersupply is the reason for a bad feeling or pain in your stomach.
And here is the connection to sport. The only way to put the adrenaline out
of your body is doing sports because the adrenaline is in the sweat which
gets out of your body or you have to cry a very long time because it can
also be in tears. And that’s the reason why women cry when they are
stressed. Those are the qualities of adrenaline and here are the
consequences if you leave the adrenaline in your body. The reason for the
pain in your stomach is that the mucous membrane of the stomach gets smaller.
Then the stomach acid attacks the stomach from the inside and the
consequence is pain. When you have this little ache over a long time and you
do nothing against it you’ll get stomach ulcers which can became a tumour.
In the most extreme way the adrenaline can lead to death!
I think this argument is really heavy and a little bit exaggerated but think
about it!
I hope that I could change your opinion about sports a little bit especially
with the last argument. Maybe you’ll take your bike more often or at least
you think more about sport.
